My name is Mel

Let me tell you a story….

When I was about ten I started to write a diary and wrote to my guardian angel, every night.  I just knew I was walking this life with a helper. It felt natural chatting over the day’s events with my guide. As I entered my twenties I felt a bit foolish and questioned how I knew this when no-one had taught me. It wasn’t a subject covered in school and my parents never discussed the actuality of invisible helpers! I dismissed it as a childhood fantasy. I stopped writing the diary and stopped my daily chats with my angel.

I got on with the gritty job of living this life and going it alone. I got caught up in the daily grind of worrying about money, relationships, work and domestic chores. I lost my joie de vivre somewhat and was not that enamoured with life as it was such a struggle.

The culmination of my very bad decision making and lifestyle choices found me homeless and all my worldly possessions in the back of my car for a while. I blamed everyone but myself for this state of affairs and was indignant that it could have happened to me.

I resolved to treat the situation as a fresh start and set off on my quest to find true peace and happiness. I shouted out that if there were Angels that they please guide me. Over the years I was sure I had heard my angel a few times reminding me I still had company but the voice was too quiet in my loud, chaotic life.

In the years since then, I have learned so much and through meditation reconnected to my helpers who encouraged me to revisit my childhood passions for art, music and poetry. Also, through their healing words I realised the only person responsible for my life was me and it was futile to blame my upbringing, education or past relationships for any failings in my life. Now my mind is quieter I can hear the gentle voice of guidance once again.

Quiet reflection has reignited a joy of living and wonder at the world. I’ve set this website up as a hub, if you like, a place where you can meander about and jump off your hectic schedule for a while. A virtual place to reflect.

I hope you find something of interest to you.
